The Big Give, Big Heroes is a social media contest hosted by the Columbus Foundation. These nominations are made by our employees, in their words.
I would like to nominate Lydia Jolly and Ray Rhone for The Big Give, Big Heroes. Lydia and Ray work for St. Stephen’s Community House in the Food and Nutrition Center. They have been vital to St. Stephen’s, the Linden community, and the city of Columbus as a whole. They show up to work on time, with a positive attitude, and ready to serve and spend hours picking up food, unloading pallets of food, and preparing fresh produce and other food items to be given to the community.
I admire how they lead volunteers and workers in an organized way with a positive attitude. Along with that, they organized the pantry so that people could drive up and receive a food box to help with food disparity that many members of our community face. Rain or shine they stand outside and check people in, and they do it with a smile. Lydia Jolly and Ray Rhone are Big Heroes in my eyes and in the eyes of the many people whom they serve.
